Healthy soil is the foundation for all great lawns. Your soil must be free of compaction, possess healthy microbial populations, and have the correct pH in order for it to thrive. The same way a garden needs rich, healthy soil for flowers and vegetables to grow, grass plants are no different. When your soil is loose and porous with a balanced pH, your grass becomes more insect and disease resistant and can outcompete weeds.
